What is the issue and What are you thoughts and feelings about it? Summarize and spray.
Are there events in your childhood that might be related to it?
What do you believe about yourself (or others) from that event? Summarize and spray.
How do you feel about the issue and the childhood event now? Check to see if there are other emotionally charged thoughts around the issue and repeat question 3 and 4.
Do you see a cause and effect between the past event and current issue? If so, use "past event, because of that, current issue or belief. Apply the spray while repeating the statement.
How to Spray
Spray outwardly above the top of your head once, with your hand holding the spray at about 1 foot above your head.
Spray 4 times with your right arm extended forward at your chest level. Bend the arm slightly. Face the nozzle sideways toward the left, spray 4 times while turning clockwise. You will be spaying at your front, right, back, and left, or the direction of 12 0'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock directions. You want to create a circle of mist at about 2 feel away from your body at your chest level.
With strong emotions start to surface, spray once toward your heart and once toward your back to clear.
INNER FREEDOM TECHNIQUE
1. What is the Issue?
This identifies the current issue that you want to work with. Your feelings and thoughts are important because it helps you get closer to your core beliefs and possibly helps you find a pattern that you want to break free from. Spray your auric field will ease the charged emotions around the current situation and allow the originating event to surface.
The spray helps create a sense of peace, safety and support, so that you are comfortable to go directly to the root cause of the event. It is important to summarize the event into a sentence that you get a heart-felt "Yeah! That's what happened." Spray above the top of your head once, then spray around your auric field four times while turning clockwise. You want to create a circle of mist at about 2 feel away from your body at your chest level. Please scroll down to the bottom of left column for more details.
2. Are there events in your childhood that might be related to this?
By answer this question with the first round of spray, you should have a memory or image pop up in your mind. Don't be surprised by this. This is the spray at work. The spray helps you feel supported enough to allow the first event to surface. It also makes the event in subconscious mind easier to surface.
3. What do you believe about yourself or others from that event?
This question helps you identify "event-related core beliefs" (ERCB), which is the cornerstone of the core beliefs. Core beliefs are thoughts that we believe about ourselves and the world we live in. Event-related core beliefs are thoughts formed during a stressful or significant event. Here is an example. Tommy was very stressed during the math test because he could not finish all the questions. During the test, he was very anxious and the thought running through his mind was, "I don't know how to solve those math problems, I am doomed." These are event-specific and occurred during the event. After the test ended, Tommy was worried and scared, and concluded that "I am not good at math." or "I am stupid."
Event-related core beliefs (ERCB) are thoughts happened during a stressful event:
"I don't know how to solve those math problems, I am doomed."
Core beliefs are conclusions drawn later on or after the event to explain the experience, but also sets the tone of our later experiences:
"I am not good at math."
"I am stupid." or "I am bad at taking test."
I found clearing event-related core beliefs (ERCB) highly effective to change core beliefs. Simply repeat ERCB while using the spray, the emotions would be shifted and the ERCB statement no longer sounds true to you.
4. How do you feel about the issue and the childhood event now?
This question serves as a checking point to see if there are more beliefs related to that issue. Many of the times, there are more than one beliefs formed from the event. Continue with the above example, Tommy was very worried about his dad's reaction. This created beliefs around that event. "I am afraid that Dad is gonna punish me and not gonna love me any more." You can spray this statement or use Question 5 to clear this.
5. Do you see a cause and effect between the past event and the current issue?
When you clear both the past and current issues, it is important to release the connection to complete the process. Using the statement of the following format: " past event, because of that, current issue or belief." Example 1: "I flunked my math test when I was eight, because of that, I have test anxiety." Example 2: "My mom said that I am lousy at doing housework, because of that, I feel depressed and I cannot keep my house clean." Example 3: "My dad was a perfectionist, because of that, I believe that I am not good enough."
Many have found this statement helpful to clear all related issues between the original event and current state, and it helps breaking the stubborn pattern of core beliefs.
ONE IMPORTANT NOTE
You can change the statement from negative to positive to change the dynamics of the thought pattern. Using the above example,
"I am good at math." or "I am beginning to see that I can be good at math."
"I am not stupid. I am pretty smart." or "I am beginning to see that I can do well in a test."
The most important thing is that you start to agree to the new statement, and it is becoming your new view. To strengthen this new way of seeing yourself and reality, you can spray from your lower back with an upward motion toward the head, then coming down from the top of the head to the front part of your body, chest, and bellybutton area. The ideal distance for this is 1 to 1.5 ft. from your physical body.
